Felanitx · the east of Mallorca
The quiet hour, kept.
A finca to rent in the east of Mallorca: thick stone, deep shade, and a day with nowhere it needs to be. Kept quietly by its owners, near Felanitx.
01The house
A plain stone house that keeps the day slow.
Casa Timbale is a finca in the east of the island, a little outside Felanitx. The walls are thick and pale, the floors are cool tile, and the rooms are kept simple on purpose — there is nothing here you have to look after, and not much you have to decide.
A German family owns it and uses it themselves, which is why it is so well kept. What they have left you is space: a shaded terrace, a quiet pool, and the kind of long afternoon that is hard to find on the coast.
02Felanitx
The east is the quiet side of the island.
Felanitx is a working town in the southeast — vineyards, almond and caper fields, a Wednesday and Sunday market, the old sanctuary of Sant Salvador on the hill above it. It is a part of Mallorca that has stayed itself: not built up, not in a hurry.
The good beaches of the east — Cala Marçal, Portocolom, the calas around Santanyí — are a short drive, and you can be at any of them and back without the day feeling spent. The rest of the time, the house is reason enough to stay put.
Close to the sea, far from the noise of it.

03The stay
Kept simple, kept cool, kept for you.
The whole house is yours — not a room in someone else's. Inside it stays cool through August; outside, the shade and the water do the work. A short, honest list of what is here.
-
The rooms
Bedrooms with thick walls and shutters that keep the heat out by day and let the cool in at night. Plainly furnished, properly dark for sleeping, nothing to fuss with.
-
The terrace & pool
A private pool and a terrace with shade you can chase round the day — morning sun one side, deep shade the other by noon. A table big enough to sit at long after the plates are cleared.
-
The kitchen
A real kitchen, set up to be cooked in. Bring back what you find at the Felanitx market — tomatoes, olives, fish from Portocolom — and eat it outside. There is no restaurant to book and no need for one.
-
The land around it
Open country on every side — fields, the line of the hills, the sanctuary on Sant Salvador in the distance. A car is worth having; once you are here, you mostly won't move it.
The quiet hour
The heat goes out of the day, the light turns gold over the fields, and for an hour nothing at all is asked of you.
